Hajj Return Flights: Airport Pickup Guide

For a Hajj return, do not rush to the airport as soon as the flight lands. Pilgrims often take a long time to disembark and clear arrival procedures, and airports are crowded. Track the flight, wait for confirmation and plan for a long day.

Before you leave home

  • Confirm the flight number, airport and expected arrival time with the family or the operator.
  • Track the flight; see how to track Hajj flights.
  • Check the airport’s arrival arrangements, since pilgrim arrivals may use specific terminals or areas.

Timing

Add time for disembarking, immigration, baggage and, for pilgrims, any special processing. It can take several hours between landing and meeting. See landed vs arrived.

At the airport

  • Follow the airport’s and authorities’ instructions about where visitors may wait.
  • Keep vehicles moving and avoid blocking roads.
  • Bring water and patience; arrival halls can be crowded.
  • Keep your phone charged so you can coordinate.

Respect and safety

Elderly pilgrims may be tired. Bring a wheelchair or assistance if needed; see accessibility and assistance.
