Cargo Airlines in Pakistan
Air cargo to and from Pakistan moves in two ways: in the belly of passenger aircraft, and on dedicated freighter aircraft. Most Pakistani air exports travel as belly cargo on passenger flights.
Belly cargo
Passenger aircraft carry freight in the hold beneath the cabin, alongside bags. Wide-body aircraft on routes to the Gulf, the UK and Europe offer significant cargo space. See belly cargo.
Freighters
Freighter aircraft carry only cargo and can take large and heavy loads. They are operated by cargo airlines and by some passenger airlines. Freighters often fly at night and appear on flight trackers with cargo-airline callsigns.
What moves by air
Typical cargo includes perishable foods and seafood, textiles and samples, medicines, e-commerce parcels and time-sensitive goods.
Spotting cargo flights
On the live map, freighters are often large aircraft such as the Boeing 747 or 777 freighter, with callsigns of cargo carriers. See freighter.
