When Do Flight Prices Spike for Pakistan?

Flight prices to and from Pakistan spike when many people want to travel at the same time: around Eid, in the summer holidays, during Ramadan on Umrah routes and at year-end. They also rise as the departure date approaches.

The main spikes

  • Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Adha: fares rise sharply for the days around each Eid. Both move yearly with the lunar calendar.
  • Summer: July and August are busy for diaspora travel.
  • Ramadan and Hajj seasons: high demand to Saudi Arabia.
  • Year-end: holiday travel to and from Pakistan.
  • Short-notice bookings: last-minute fares are usually higher.

How to reduce the cost

  • Book early for peak periods and watch fares for changes.
  • Travel a few days before or after the peak.
  • Compare airlines, airports and routes.
  • Check the total, including baggage and seats.

Why prices spike

Airlines use a system that raises fares as seats fill, and add extra capacity only on some routes. Pakistani airlines have limited aircraft, so extra flights are not always possible.
